Global Scrum Gathering® San Diego 2017 - Looking Back, Looking Forward - Surf The Tides Of Change
Life in San Diego is about discovery; leaving behind old roots and allowing one's self to migrate beyond societal norms. Those who migrate to southern California come with an open mind, a passion to learn, and a desire to grow. This year's gathering will focus on "passion" and the opportunities that can transpire when people collaborate and share ideas. The tracks focus on how to amplify the benefits of Scrum across all industries with a focal point of growth through shared knowledge.
All tracks are accepting sessions in both beginner and advanced categories. There should only be ONE primary target audience and should be carefully considered based on the content of your session.
Level 1 - Beginner – The basics of Scrum: Getting Started - Opportunities. Meet other surfers. Learn from them.
Level 2 - Advanced – Looking far beyond the basics: Out beyond the break - Advanced surfers honing their craft.
To this end, we have identified Three tracks:
You can't stop the wave, but you can learn to surf: Paddle out and learn how to develop collaborative, high performing scrum teams. This track will feature sessions on building our Scrum Teams skills (Scrum Master, Product Owner, & Team Members skills) as well as developing and nurturing high performing teams.
As the tides transform, a new journey awaits: How can we create a culture to reset the 'World of Work'? How do we shift with the tides and grow the mindset beyond software development and information technology? Tides can be overwhelming like a tsunami, or they can be perceived as an opportunity. How do we accept the challenges of scaling with distributed teams? How do we measure? Change comes as a result of the Tides, but change in any environment can be uncomfortable so we need to respond and position ourselves for action.
Life's a Wave: CATCH IT: Taking Scrum to the next level, Scale beyond the surf. Looking far beyond the basics. This track will focus on agile leadership and organizational agility. Can organizations progress from 'doing agile' to 'truly being agile'? See past the tides and across the Portfolio. How can you encourage the agile mindset among your Leaders and throughout your organization?
We are looking for the following formats:
- Workshop [75 minutes] - Presenter facilitates activities/exercises with the audience to illustrate learning and introduce discussion points.
- Talk [45 minutes] - Presenter is speaking for most of the time (using slides or other visual aids); Audience interaction is minimal.
Beside the two different formats we're looking for proposals from people who are new to Scrum/Agile and those who are experienced. Don't hesitate to submit your proposal. Community means to share and everybody is equal.
